The Walking Dead Season 1 (2010-2011)
In a hassle with some criminals, Sheriff Rick Grimes is deadly wounded and goes into come for a period of several months. When he wakes up, he realizes that the world as he knew it is gone, taken over by zombies with deathly infectious bites. He meets with other survivors, Morgan Jones and his son Duane who explain the situation to him. After having all the information, he arms himself and goes to Atlanta in search of his family, his wife Lori and his son Carl, where it is said that the CDC has a zombie-free area. Once he arrives there, the mental picture he had of what he will find is destroyed. The walkers had taken over the city and he soon finds himself trapped. He’s rescued by Glenn Rhee, whose partial group was set in the Atlanta department store. They are, however, attacked by zombies and forced to flee, leaving one member behind.
They meet with the rest of Glenn’s group outside Atlanta and Rick discovers that Lori and Carl are safe and sound, protected by Shane Walsh, his best friend who now has a crush on Lori. They both take command at the group and a part of it is led by Rick back to Atlanta to redeem a weapon bag and to rescue Merle, the guy left behind only to find out that he saw his hand out of the handcuffs! Returning home, they find the camp devastated, being occupied by walkers. Amy, Andrea’s sister is killed and another member, Jim, is injured. They decide they must go to CDC for medical help. After one family decides that they’ll leave the group because they want to search their relatives and Jim begging to be left behind due to massive infection, the group continues their journey.
In the CDC, Dr. Edwin Jenner, the only member still alive, explains to them that the cure is not yet found, but they might have a chance with the French researchers. Due to lack of fuel for the emergency generators, the building’s safety protocol initiates and decontamination begins: the building will blow up. Dr. Jenner chooses to stay behind and whispers something into Rick’s ear. Andrea and Jacqui also choose this because they have lost hope. Seeing this, Dale chooses Andrea side, which only makes her to change her mind in order to save Dale. They barely make it outside before the building self-destructs.
