This is the only animated show on this list. It’s an action/adventure animated TV show for kids, but a lot of grown ups watch it too. It’s broadcasted on Nickelodeon and one episode costs 1 million dollars.

Avatar contains light humor, good story and moral lessons. I highly recommend it regardless of your age. It’s for a reason the highest rated animated TV show.

Twin Peaks is American TV drama from 1990. It has only 2 seasons, but is referred as one of the best dramas on television.

Dexter is a mystery/crime/drama that has 8 seasons and has kept its quality.  The main character is Dexter who is a blood splatter expert in the Miami Metro Police Department. But he has a dark secret that nobody knows.

He is a serial killer with a unique code which allows him to kill only people that deserve to die. This drama is a must watch and I guarantee you that the high rating is deserved.

Firefly is a series that ended sooner that it should have. This adventure/sci-fi/drama is located 500 years in the future on a small spacecraft.

Firefly has only 1 season with 14 episodes, but is adored by it’s fans. Its cancelling is one of the biggest mistakes in TV business.

Sherlock is a smart crime-drama that is based on the books about Sherlock Holmes. But what’s interesting in this series is that it’s placed in the modern world (21th century, London) and not in the 1880s.

Sherlock has only 6 episodes so far, but every one of them is 90 minutes long. This brilliant British crime-drama is one of the best written series and that’s why it has very high rating.

Braking Bad is on the third place. When a high school chemistry teacher is diagnosed with cancer, he “breaks bad” and teams up with a small-time drug dealer and starts producing quality crystal meth.

This is the main story on Braking Bad. This show is characterized by great writing and the actors are also doing a great job.

The Wire concentrates on the drug business in Baltimore, seen trough the eyes of the police and the dealers.
